In the wake of the devastation due to Hurricane Harvey, I have heard reports of my fellow Texans pulling together and helping each other. Even all the way here in Europe we have heard of the storm’s destruction and the subsequent relief efforts. I am very lucky that my family lives in San Antonio, and we didn’t get much more damage than we would get in a big thunderstorm. However my fellow Texans were not so lucky in places like Rockport, Port Aransas, and by-now nationally covered Houston.

I took a while to think of how I could best help, despite not being in the state to donate my time and effort like I desperately wanted. I’m making an off-schedule post to reveal that for every order of 2 or more bars I will make a donation of $5 to local charities helping with relief.

I will be making these donations to Houston’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, The Food Bank of Corpus Christi, and the San Antonio Humane Society. I know that in order to truly help those effected, it’s more effective to donate directly to local charities that are desperately in need of the money to make changes happen.

We open up the shop again for business Monday, 04 September and will immediately put this policy into effect. It will continue until the areas effected are rebuilt and restored, however long that may take.

It’s my duty as a Texan and American to help in whatever way I can when my fellows call for help. Since I’m unable to put my shoes to pavement or items in the hands of relief workers, I’m donating money that I make from my humble business in the hopes it will be enough. From one proud Texan to another, prayers and love.

Keep showin’ them how we pull together, y’all.
